The Music Spot, established August 2008

The Music Spot is committed to bringing the highest quality music education to all its students. Whether 2 or 92, The Music Spot has a program that will fit your style. We take pride in providing a well rounded music education with 2 studio wide group lessons per year and a spring recital. With many themed weeks throughout the year, we make learning music FUN! We are happy to introduce Art Lessons as well as Yoga, Drum Circles, Mindfulness and Holistic Events. Music is everything, and everything is Music!

Diane McGuire, Owner & Studio Director

Diane has been teaching for 32 years and attended the University of Windsor for Music & Business. While in Windsor, Diane was an active band member in Matrix, Music Express and The Gemini Wind Ensemble. Diane has always been involved in her community participating, organizing and promoting local events & activities. Previous to The Music Spot, Diane was the Education Specialist at Belle Air Music in Windsor and London. Her passion for education has been utilized by the Strathroy District Arts Council, The Strathroy Youth Gardeners, The Air Cadets, Middlesex Community Living, and most recently directing The Strathroy Caradoc Optimist Youth Band. Diane is also a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, is certified in Health Rhythms, provides consultations in Nutrition, Reiki, Colour, Sound and Crystal Therapy.

Doug Gillard

Douglas Gillard

Doug Gillard has been a band member for over 20 years, proficiently and expressively drumming unique and challenging patterns for all genres of music. Doug has brought the joy and love of music to many including church congregations, youth groups, private parties, and public events. Doug teaches Art and Drums.

Rochelle Baughman

Rochelle is a graduate of Brock University with a Bachelor of Music in Piano and Organ Performance. She has her Grade 10 Royal Conservatory Piano, and Grade 8 Royal Conservatory violin. She has been teaching for 18 years. She teaches our early music programs, violin, cello, piano, voice and more!

Kathy Gillard

Kathy Gillard

Kathy has been scoring music, performing, and accompanying soloists from a very early age. As an active member in the church community she has conducted several church choirs. This award winning director has been teaching piano for over 20 years and coached vocalists who have found great success touring as far as Sweden! Kathy teaches voice, piano, band instruments, violin and ukulele.

Matthew Cleeve

Matthew Cleeve

Matt has been playing professionally for over 20 years. Matt formed his first of many bands in high school and has since played a variety of musical styles including Folk, Rock, R&B, Classical, Funk, and Jazz. Thanks to his early start and supportive atmosphere, Matt grew to become a multi-instrumentalist playing piano, drums, mandolin, bass, ukulele, keyboard, and percussion instruments. He is a singer-songwriter, arranger and composer.

Jasmine Melo

Jasmine Melo

Jasmine has been involved in music since she was 3 years old and continues to study piano, voice and ukulele. She has been involved in multiple plays with Youth Performing Arts and Huron County Playhouse. Jasmine teaches ukulele and piano; she enjoys leading the ukulele drop in classes.

Kylie Weaver

Kylie is in her 2nd year at the University of Windsor in the Concurrent Ed program. She has been teaching at The Music Spot for 6 years and is an integral part of our summer camps. She is the founder of Kylie's Swim Program offering Life Saving Society lessons. Kylie teaches piano and ukulele.
